CREATIVE EXPRESSION AT MY FINEST
The queen of a little village in a placed called No Land sits in her room that is full of a poor girl's dreams and feels empty. She is beautifully envied by all the women and adored by all the men. She even has a pet dragon that a faithful knight captured and tamed for her. She allows it to breathe fire down on anyone who dares to curse her village. She even allows the children of the village to pet it when she goes out for her walks. You would think that she had it all and wouldn't feel empty, but she does.
The queen use to be married to the king, but he lost his life during a battle with the people of Conquer Land. She now rules a lonely kingdom and all of No Land feels her pain. He was a loving king and was always looking out for his people. They never got a chance to bare any children and that is what makes her feel empty the most. Motherhood was something she long for since a child along with a loving husband yet, she didn't expect to marry a king in her lifetime. So now the queen has to find someway to cope with her loss.
It's a sense of purpose that would do her justice. If only there was a way to get a message from the other side from her beloved to let her know that it is okay to move on. She vows to never marry again though. So one day after greeting the town the queen goes back into her room where she can reminisce on the memory of her husband. As she approaches her chair that is put by her window with a view of the foliage in the village's square she is met by a falling rose petal. It took her by surprise with it's radiant red color that reminded her of the passion she use to share for her husband.
It had to been a sign from him is what she thought for he use to always bring her roses to remind her of his love and her passion for life. It reminded her of zest for life that was slowly drowned out by mourning for her lover. It was in that moment an epiphany hit her like a wrecking ball to a wall. She was a person before her husband with goals and a vision. She was a person who held purpose and always made it her duty to carry out a positive mission. It was those qualities that attracted her husband to her.
She burst into tears of sorrow that flowed into a river of joy. Even in death he is still showing her concern and affection. It was clear to her that it was time to awaken back into that person and continue living her life. That night she slept well and the next day she awakened with a smile that felt strange, but familiar. She called for a servant to bring her a bouquet of roses. She then took the rose petal to the wishing well that was also located in the town's square and said a wish on the petal that she clinged to so tight. It was as if she fused it with her love.
She then threw it into the well and watched it float gently around the angel figure in the middle. As she walked away she felt like a new person. She felt like she now could let her husband go and set out on her path to self-discovery. It was confirmed through that rose petal that he was still with her and guarding her. She went to the village's market to meet the town's people and allow them to play with her pet dragon. There it was nothing, but a jolly good time and the people were happy to see the queen that they knew.
As she was enjoying the festivities a small child approached her by tugging on her royal robe. He stood below her with such innocent brown eyes that captivated the moment and her attention. He was sort of shy, but held something in his hand that he really wanted to give to her. She asked him if he was okay and he nodded his head as any other small child would. After clearing his throat he held his balled fist out and asked for her hand. He then placed a rose in her hand then ran away.
All she could do was smile and look to the sky. She knew that it was sign from her husband saying that he was proud of her and that she finally got her passion back for life. Then, back to the festivities she went with a feeling of completion.
