A challenge many face with the concept of surrendering is the assumption that their surrender means they will be left exposed and vulnerable. Vulnerable means susceptible to attack or defenseless and God NEVER leaves us defenseless. And, rather than being exposed, surrendering creates an opening within for our Creator to go to work.
When I began my spiritual adventure in April of this year I had a lot of questions but I went into the journey with an open heart and waited for the answers to come. I learned that God has a plan for us, ALL of us. Surrendering is a divine action. What surrendering truly means is to give up on the idea that WE know what the best plan is for our lives. We only see a small picture, a fragment of our own personal world. Our creator and the angels see the whole picture, the whole world and all its inhabitants. The whole plan..
Surrendering is simple; it is about trust. Trust that God created you for a very specific purpose and aligning yourself and your life with this purpose is the first step towards a very beautiful and fulfilling future. Surrendering does not take away but gives. It gives us access to the tools to defend God's plans and purpose for us; to secure humanity's future. It brings forth the courage within us to step forward into the unknown. We were chosen because we were the strongest. Beings of light and LOVE who sacrificed our eternal lives for the most divine purpose: to lead others through fear and out of the darkness.
Shortly after I started my spiritual quest I blessed my home with sage. It was about starting anew and showing God my commitment to being a better person and surrendering to his will for my life. Immediately following the blessing of my home I received an email from my friend Valerie with these timely, amazing words:
Jeremiah 29:11-14a:"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord…
Surrender. Place your faith and trust in the one who created you for he knows you best. He made you with his own hands. He gave you your mission and all the divine gifts needed to plan and execute his will. All you need to do is acknowledge and accept God's place for you in light and LOVE. You are not vulnerable, you are LOVE and LOVE is the greatest of ALL defenses.
