Grace. It is one way to describe the feeling that fell upon me after leaving The Journey Within- Spiritualist National Union Church in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey. I woke up this morning with a clear mind because I wasn't sure what to expect. I pictured a place of worship in my mind that would be uplifting, but not the extent that it actually was. I am very open and aware that my spirit guides are leading me on a different journey. I, no longer resist the path. I, now embrace the path. As I arrived to the church I was surprised because it sat at the end of a residential street.
There weren't many cars outside, but I've learned long ago that you can't judge a book by its cover. As I stepped inside the church I was greeted by loving spirits. You could just feel the energy inside of there. I loved how the chairs had white sheets draped over them in a sort of stylish fashion. Each chair was equipped with a binder that had songs and poems inside of them. I was pleased to see that the songs were diverse and some were rather modern in times. Miley Cyrus's "The Climb" was one of the songs.
We didn't get a chance to sing it. The songs we did sing were really good and uplifting. One thing that stuck out about this place was that they did a healing session. It was similar to a call to altar, but instead it was a time where healers laid their hands upon your shoulders (with permission) and did a silent prayer for you. I felt a tingling in my third eye and three presences around me. One was in between the healer and I. The other two were in front of me and I could feel the outline of their energy field.
It was as if they were looking over me. The Pastor then led a prayer and a service where she said that we should not do anything against the kingdom of God. Life is really starting to open up for me spiritually. My eyes glanced around the room at all the enlightened souls and how they were relishing in the joy of God. The most amazing experience of my lifetime happened when I was in there too. There is a part where mediums connect with deceased loved ones and give out special messages.
It's not centered around giving messages to us from beyond the other side. It is a place where people embrace their connections to the higher power and utilizes the gift that has been bestowed upon them. I was hoping to speak with my great grandmother who died in April of 2013. There was a strong presences standing behind me that made me feel emotional. That was a sure sign that she was in the room and standing by me. I knew at that point, she had something to share with me.
There was a medium there named Joe who was meditating for awhile throughout service. He stood up and started to describe a fabulous older lady in her mid 70s. I was still a little uncertain if he was speaking of her until he mentioned her living in a brick house. She lived in a brick complex. I then, raised my hand and let him know that he must of been speaking of my great grandmother. The things he was saying about her brought back memories that me laugh. It also brought back the pain of missing her.
It was just a great feeling of knowing that she was okay and still loved me. He said that her message for me was to be frugal and to enjoy each and everyday of my life. It was amazing because her motto in life was to enjoy everyday of your life. We use to sit and talk about her past and she would always tell me that she had a lot of fun growing up around my age. I miss those conversations dearly, but they left great memories that I can say I had with her. As that segment of the service came to a close the pastor said a prayer for our deceased loved ones.
My eyes balled with tears and I let out the pains of missing her. It was life changing and I'm glad that she came through to him and it made me feel special because I was able to talk to her. I really enjoyed my time at this church and see myself going back again. I thank the universe for showing me places where I can be among those who share my faith.
If you are ever in the Pompton Lakes area I recommend you check out this church.
