The journey within is one of the scariest journeys you can take. It leads you to dealing with unhealed emotions and the full understanding that you are responsible for your life. It requires time apart from the people you love and a huge level of vulnerability. It is not an overnight process and never intended as a punishment. It is a process of unlocking your purpose in this lifetime. Many are good at a lot of things, but have been creating by default. They are very unaware of the true importance of their journey. We all have been at this point in life where we ask this big question, why am I here?
The answer isn't as obvious because for years it has always been about getting ahead. You may have encountered big breaks in life to only collapse later down the line. You may experience much success, but still have this feeling of emptiness inside. That is an indicator of your soul's yearning to be expressed. I always ask people about their hobbies because I feel that inside of your hobbies lies a wealth of knowledge about you on a deeper level. Whatever makes your heart sings is surely something to do with why you are here in this lifetime. Sometimes we dismiss our hobbies as being something that we just do to get away. Or feel they couldn't bring any lucrative gain to our lives.
That couldn't be any further from the truth. Your hobby might not be the sole baring of your earnings, but a huge contribution to it. We get it mixed up by associating wealth with purpose. Money is good to have, but it doesn't define you. No matter what path you choose in life the universe will make sure to sustain you. Life is about being happy and of service to others. Any other perks are rewards for a soul's job well done. So take the journey within to figure out who you are.
The universe is hard pressed on helping you find out who you are even when you aren't listening. At times, we experience a "dark night of the soul" where many areas of our lives crumble around the same time. It just seems like the world is against you and you are scrambling to get some air. Those times are a blessing in disguise because you have no other distractions and the universe has your full attention. You have no choice, but to figure out who you REALLY are and making those changes to create the lifestyle you are meant to have. Of course, while you are experiencing those changes it seems like a curse instead of a blessing, but I am living proof of the gifts that are born out of sudden changes.
There are many others who are living the life they are meant to live and will tell you they either experienced a loss of income, relationship, or some other prop in life, but ended up realizing they loved to knit or something. And now they are the head of some fashion company and couldn't be more happier. There are many ways of uncovering who you are. You can ask your friends and family what they admire in you. This gives you an idea as to what kind of service you contribute to the world. Meditating is also a good way.
The best way of finding out your purpose is to experience different outlets in life until you find one that feels right. The amazing thing about the universe is that it will take you down many roads until it leads you to the best one because you get to pick up skills along the way. These skills will help you in the future. Don't get frustrated with your process in life by comparing yourself to others. That slows down the process of your own growth. Society tells us that we should be a certain way by a certain age. Well, that is all swell for those who achieve that, but you may be a late bloomer like myself and we should be celebrated too.
I get those feelings when I buy into society's expectations despite what spirit tells me, but I learn to center myself because only I can make the right decisions for myself. You must put yourself first and give yourself credit for all the hard work you have put in. Yes, you probably didn't make all the best decisions, but you did what you had to do with what you knew. So let it go! Life isn't a thought process. It is an experience that takes you in many directions that you may not understand. The universe doesn't always lets us in on the process so much as it does the outcomes. If you are in a position where nothing seems to be happening then use that time wisely to work on yourself.
The path may seem confusing, but it will become clearer. When I found out that I wanted to get into the life coaching business I wasn't sure as to what made me different. I was talking to a spiritual business coach and she was asking me questions about what made me different, but I didn't have an answer. So I kept pondering about it. I knew I had spiritual gifts that would help others and I knew I had a gift to teach. One day, I was on my computer and I was reading through a review and it hit me! I realized I was an intuitive healer who had spiritual gifts that would help others learn how to hear their own guidance. It was what made me unique and I felt really confident about what I could offer others.
This path was full of twist and turns up until this point spiritually and now it is starting to really come together. Your path is unique to your experiences and requires patience. Think of your joy and inside of that is the key to unlocking your true purpose in life. Take time out daily for at least an hour without any distraction to tune into yourself and the spiritual realms. Even, if it isn't something that others won't agree with it doesn't matter because the universe supports you always! You are becoming more authentic each day that you take the time to explore your being. It requires you to stand in your truth, but know that the right people will support you. In the end, all will support you. Celebrate who you are now and who you are becoming.
